Mr. Marin is a co-founder and principal of New Market Partners. Mario brings real world operating experience implementing Alternative Financial Services strategies and tactics to serve the unbanked and underbanked markets with special expertise in Marketing to Hispanics. Mario joined the New Market Partners team while serving as the Vice President for Retail Operations at El Banco de Nuestra Comunidad. In this position, Mario was responsible for leading the execution of all aspects of the El Banco retail banking model, including non-traditional banking and non-banking products, outside sales and community based marketing, retail delivery, and operations and regulatory compliance. Mario is equally fluent in Spanish and English, and brings rich multi-cultural customer communication skills to the New Market Partners team.
Prior to joining New Market Partners, Mario held numerous positions of increasing leadership and responsibility during his 25 year career in banking, manufacturing and technology. His experience includes finance and operations executive positions with Hewlett-Packard and Citibank in the United States, and the Polar Enterprises and Cisneros Group of companies in Venezuela. Mario has a proven track record of driving significant innovation and change by building consensus across large and complex organizations, and managing teams and projects in multi-national and multi-cultural environments. Mario was born in Costa Rica, and grew up in Venezuela.
